Why near-infrared is worth having alongside red

Visible red light (typically 630–670nm) works primarily at and near the skin's surface. Near-infrared light sits just past what the eye can see and travels deeper into tissue, which is why the two are usually paired rather than used alone — red for the surface, NIR for what's underneath.

What to check on the label
